baby doesnt like to take nipple after pumping?

seems the first feeding after a pump makes my baby uninterested in the nipple, ideas?

  • oh ok OP! if she isnt liking the side you just pumped, it might be due to your milk spraying everywhere (there is a term for this...I'm totally blank). or perhaps since you got the first of the milk stored, she doesnt like taste of the second coming of the milk

  • nipple confusion. best thing to do is nurse nurse nurse! only pump and offer a bottle if you are in a situation where nursing isnt an option or if a relative, friend or the father wants to feed the baby. you want to wait to offer a bottle till your supply meets the demand, then the baby wont have nipple confusion and you wont lose supply

  • some example situations where nursing might not be an option: if you dont feel comfortable nursing in public or you cant find a place to sit and nurse, or if you have surgery and the medicine isnt safe for the baby

  • Do you mean the baby doesn't want to nurse after you pump? What you can do is pump one breast while the baby nurses the other breast.

  • i havent bottlefed i am pumping and freezing. she does nurse one side while i pump theother, when its time to use the pumped side she seems to dislike something about it
