Who do you consider a great singer as far as vocals?

Amy Lee is pretty amazing as far as female vocalists go. Ella Fizgerald, also totally mindblowing. And despite the fact that I'm not such a huge fan of his music, I think that Chris Daughtry is pretty good.

OP here...I love Amy Lee, I just wish she would put out more music. Some of these I'm going to have to look up. I love discovering new singers.

I don't think Amy Lee is as good a singer as I thought she was when I was in high school..Hubbie and I were actually talking about that a couple days ago, haha.


For a female, I'd say Carrie Underwood..I can belt her songs out and sound just like her, so she helps me keep my singing up. And for a male, Ville Valo..he is a phenomenal vocalist, gives me the chills.

I like a lot of vocalists. As long as they CAN sing their own songs. It ticks me off to no end that some people sound ridiculous live because they can't sing without of all the crap they do in the studio to make it sound like they can. And they are getting paid SO much money. As someone who has been in the recording studio (just for fun, I'm not saying I'm famous, or wonderful! :o) I know they can make you sound awesome when you suck. I would never record a song that sounded like me strangling a cat, and then just let the recording studio techs make it sound good. One guy tried to get me to sing some b.s. and I couldn't hit the notes and I said heck no! My Mamaw is gonna hear this and I'm not giving her fake stuff! LOL!
