When is a good time to move my turkey from freezer to fridge to thaw? PIOG

My turkey is 16 lbs and I want it thawed by Thanksgiving mid-morning.

Would today be too soon to place it in the fridge to thaw or have I put it in too late?

  • Put it in the frig Tuesday....
If I forget to pull it out a few days early, I will let is set in a pan on the stove at room temp for a few hours and then put it in the frig until the day I cook it...

  • LOL...kjrn79....yes, actually. I'm taking the 'average' of all the answers and I'm thinking that by putting it in the fridge this morning will work just fine.
If it defrosts a day early it won't get hurt sitting in there for another day.
I also remember the 'innards' staying frozen a lot longer than the meaty part of the bird, right?
I really do appreciate all of you helping me out. ♥
