How do I know if I have fleas?

My daughter has these red dots on her. The Dr doesnt know what they are. Me and DH dont have them. Its cold out so fleas shouldnt be here. And we just got rid of cats like a month ago and we seen like 2 fleas within a few days so we dont know if her dots are from the fleas. The cats did go outside but theyve been gone and we didnt see any fleas when we had them. The dr doesnt know what it is either. They just said to keep an eye on them. but they seem to just appear.

  • do you live in an area with bedbugs?

  • The lifecycle of the flea could still be going on, even though you got rid of the cats. Fleas typically bite 3 times in a row, so look for that.

  • i dont live in any where near bed bugs. And my daughters matress is plastic coating... so in case she pees you wipe it right off. So i dont know how they would live in it. plus her sheets have been washed multiple times so idk.

  • Have you cleaned the carpets, curtains and furniture in your house? Maybe there is an exterminator who can come and spray the house for bugs and that would clear it up. Give your house a good cleaning and see if that helps!

  • You got rid of the cats. The fleas have no where else to go. NOW you're going to see them.

When you found those two fleas did you clean the house and set off bombs? Did you also take care of the yard? You have to do both at the same time.

Bedbugs..not living "near" them doesn't mean you don't have them. Plastic covers don't keep them away. Washing the sheets don't take care of them.

  • Fleas will live in your carpet, bedding, and furniture. They are so hard to get rid of. With no pets to bite on they will go for humans. Even though it is cold out there are still fleas around.
