  • There are a couple kinds of spiced apples. Some come in a jar, they are apples sliced crossways thinly and are red and have sugar and cloves and other spices on them. They make a pretty garnish. The kind I am having are apple slices in a syrup of sugar along with cinnamon and some other spices.

  • I make my own spiced apples. Start with Granny Smith apples (I use 5)..others will not work well. Core, peel and chop into large chunks. I placed them in a 2 qt sauce pan with about a cup or so of water. Sprinkle between 3/4 to 1 ciup of white sugar over the apples ( I use Splenda instead of sugar because we have several diabetics in our family) Cinnamon 1-3 tsps- to taste. I always grate a little fresh nutmeg in too.. Bring to a boil over med. high heat. stir gently but frequently. The sugar and water will make a simple syrup. Boil about 10 mins or until your apples are tender but not mushy. The sryup will thicken as it cools. Some of us just like them on our plate with the meal. Some like them over ice cream and my grandson just likes them in a bowl with whipped cream on top.

  • Turkey, Green Bean Cassarole, Navy Beans, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes (made with real potatoes), homemade stuffing, Rolls, Cheery Pie, Apple Pie, and Pumpkin Pie. We're trying to think of something new to add to the menue, but are having a hard time thinking of something. The websites all have ideas, but they're just jazzed up versions of the original T-Day menu.
