Does your little one like spicy foods?

DD's 19 months and for quite awhile now, ever since she started eating real food really, she's liked spicy foods. She's eat Thai food, curries, spicy sausage, Mexican, salsas, Tabasco sauce, etc.

I love spicy foods and ate them all the time when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, I guess that's why she does so well with them?

I'm eating an omelette I have drenched in Tabasco right now and she's asked for like 10 bites! She hasn't even told me it's spicy (some times she'll tell me "it's spicy" but she keeps eating it)!

  • YES! Everytime I think something is going to be too spicy for him, he gobbles it down and asks for more! He is so his daddy's baby, lol! I craved spicy while pregnant and it's like my tastebuds need that extra kick now. Maybe my breastmilk gets spicy and he's used to it!

  • One of my son's favorite foods as a toddler was Taco Bell's refried beans. I asked his doctor and he said that little Mexican babies probably ate refried beans so why not. Now he is all grown up and loves all kinds of foods and enjoys cooking.

  • nah, he does like salsa but he only likes mild not hot salsa. he doesn't like the chicken chili i made if i use too many hot peppers in it. same with other kinds of stews. he doesn't like them with hot peppers, so i think he just doesn't like hot stuff. so now when i make chilis or burritos or whatever, i make them mild.

  • Yeah that's what I was wondering, if my breast milk was spicy so she was used to it.

She'll eat spicier foods then a lot of adults lol, it's funny.

  • Yep my 15 month old loves spicy foods. When ever my husband and I eat something spicy he always gives her a bite. And she wants more!. I'll give her a little piece. She'll gobble it down, then stick her tongue out and say "hot"!
