Another tax!! Are they nuts? How much more do you have to give?

War surtax. Two top democrats want to institute a new tax to offset the cost of the war in Afghanistan. The surtax would be on top of, not in addition to existing federal income taxes. The poorest would pay 1% and there would be a sliding scale to 5%. A surtax is typically not subject to any deductions.

The 2 leaders said military families have gone to the well time and again. It is now time for the American people to make some sacrifices. I wonder then if military will be excempt or simply asked to "go to the well" again.

So how are we supposed to take care of ourselves and our kids? They keep taxing us and we won't have money for food or any of the things one must have (shetler, clothing) and won't qualify for assistance.

So how do you propose we pay for the war tnm and yourspecial? All this crying about how much health care will add to the deficit, well howmuch do you think these 2 wars have added to the deficit? So do tell...how shall we pay for the war? Or are you advocating for withdrawal?

Shouldnt of implemented the stupid waste of a stimulus to begin with and none of the bailouts should of happened under Obama or gwb..

as for withdrawl well I am of the opinion to either send them wth they need or get them out and obama cant make up his mind eitherway..even after recieveing plans none of them are good enough for him

I think my family and I already paid enough already. They got my son and his service in Iraq, and took his hand, isn't that enough? We pay enough taxes, They need to take some of the money from saving the spotted toad or whatever and pay the military and their families more.
