When would my next ultrasound be?

I am 5 months pregnant now (having a baby boy! Yay! lol) and I have had my original ultrasound to determine exactly how far I might be as I could not remember my last menstraul cycle and then I had my 20 week ultrasound to determine sex and development.
So, I haven't had a child in over two years (almost three) and I can't remember. It seems like they do another one further down the road. Do they and if so about what month?

Thanks! =)

  • totally depends on the provider. some don't do any ultrasounds, some do 3 or more! mine just did the 1 routinely and then more if they suspected an issue =) congrats on your boy!

  • I only had one with DS, unless something is wrong or they need to check something, I think this is all insurance is going to do, congrats on the baby boy, what are you going to name him?

  • Thinking about naming him Nathaniel Kayden Sage but we aren't 100% yet. =)

  • I think that unless something's of concern, they only do the 20 week anatomy one. I, on the other hand, am getting tired of ultrasounds :) It's awesome to see the baby, but the amount of water you have to drink beforehand has got to be a big cosmic joke...

  • I only had one with my son, bc he was healthy and no causes for concern....i would have liked at least one more!

  • I only had one, when I had an amnio at 16 weeks (or so)

  • Lots of insurance companies wont pay for more then one or 2. Also many dr. dont do more then one or 2 unless you have a reason. With my first I only had 1. Unfortunatly, with my 3rd I had 9! I wish I'd only needed one. (health problems)

  • Normally, they won't do one without medical indication, other than the 20 week scan.

  • With my second she had low fluid and other stuff going on so I had to do like 2 a week and 3 non-stress tests as well. So I wasn't sure about a pregnancy with nothing going on, lol.

  • I had one at my very first appointment i was 9 weeks and then we had another at almost 18 weeks to determine the sex and we just had one at 32 weeks, my doctor said we wont do another one because everything is goig smoothly. We couldnt hardly see anything at the last one because he is so squished in there definately running out of room
