How long do yams need to bake and at what temperature?

  • Wash throughly. Poke a few holes in the skin. Put on a baking sheet; put in a preheated oven at 375F for about 45 minutes.

  • What about marshmallows?Has anyone used them in a yam recipe?

  • Mash the yams add brown sugar and small can of crushed pineapple with juice and a bit of butter, put the marshmallows on top and brown. I think that's everything.

  • Peel the yams. Chunk up. Throw in a greased pan, preferably with high sides (cake pan or other casserole dish). Drizzle with melted butter. Bake, stirring lightly every 15 minutes, til tender - 45 minutes to an hour. Cover with marshmallows, and pop back in oven til marshmallows are puffed/golden brown.
