need help potty training austisic child

  • You basically go about it the same way as you do with any child. My dd was surprisingly easy to train. She has mild autism.

    Just reward, practice, practice practice.

    Expect lots of accidents and be ready to stop trying if you feel the child is not ready yet. You can always take a break for a couple of weeks and restart potty training. I did that a time or two. I just felt like she needed a break. Me too...lol

    Get a basket and fill it with rewards that the child likes....m&ms or stickers...whatever...so when they try or are successful they get something:)

    Good luck...its not impossible! Just be patient!
