  • Quit pulling verses out of context. To the rest of you read the whole thing. It's talking about the Jews that were there at that time. He even qoutes scripture from the OT to get his point across. those that were there then repented and were Baptised. The ones who saw all that had happened.

  • Read the whole passage. Peter is speaking to the Jews. The Jewish people based their hopes on Abraham, David other patriarchs of their faith. Peter is showing that as great as those men were Jesus was God in flesh and greater than all of them. He was the messiah they were all looking for. The Jewish people were under Roman rule and they were looking for a political messiah. This passage also speaks to the fact that Jesus will someday return and rule the earth and be that political messiah but that this was not the time.
