Why is he so dumb sometimes?

My fiance calls me up last night and gives me a hard time about not calling him all day. Not that it matters but he was not working so he was at home all day knowing I was busy all day playing mommy and daddy to my kids. Anyway I told him I wasn't sure when would be a good time with his family there and all so he says to call today anytime it doesn't matter. So I do, and of course, he's short with me and busy and says he'll call back, making things "awkward". He doesn't call back all day and I don't call either due to how he acts whenever I call him and the fact that since he didn't call back I wasn't going to call him again. Why do they play these ridiculuous games??
