When do you season your pizza dough?

I make my whole wheat pizza dough and sprinkle on the basil, cayenne, garlic, etc after the dough is on the pan. Is there a way to get it all over the crust? Can I add all those things when mixing the dough? Or should I wait til it's risen and then knead it all in?

  • I use a seasoned oil when I grill pizza. I don't season the dough, just the sauce.
