Help! My printer says "paper jam"! There is no paper jammed!

How do I fix it?

  • Turn off and disconnect and start over. That is how I usually fix this problem.

  • Reset it. Like anon says, turn it off, disconnect, reconnect, turn back on. That should do it

  • mama moom....I'm about to throw it out the freakin' window! Seriously! It's almost brand new only used it a couple times.....but of course It's not working because I need to print something now!

  • See if there is a small panel on the back near the bottom that you can open. That was where my paper jam was not too long ago. GL!

  • There may just be a speck on a sensor. Open whatever you can and blow very hard (unless you have a can of compressed air).

  • Unplugging solves a lot of problems. I used to have a printer that was possessed and seemed to know exactly when I needed to print something urgently and then would lose the connection to the computer. Drove me nuts.
    Also, like kenzie said, there should be a panel in the back that comes off to clear paper jams. A lot of times you can't see the paper jammed from the front but you open the back panel and it's all scrunched up in there.

  • Reboot everything. It should fix the problem.
