What does this mean anyway?

I know these words are famous: "Yes we can and yes we did" but what? What can you do and what did you do? I'm just wondering what it means?

  • They CAN sign a lobbyist cushioned stimulus spending spree into law..They DID it without anyone reading it. (please consult a small business owner or refer to current unemployment numbers to measure results thus far)

  • Yes we Can elect a black man, yes we did elect a black man.

    The only thing that remotely seperates Obama from every other President is that he isn't white. That's it. He's not different than any other democrat, and not even much differnet than Bush.
