If a healthcare bill, any healthcare bill was funded ONLY by a "sin-tax" would you support it?

No. I don't support taxation for something they can reform without cost to the taxpayers. If they would change regulations on insurance they would be able to make insurance more affordable. I don't see the point in destroying the current system for the hope that a new system will net better results.

Sin tax inevitably makes the system dependant on sinners. It makes the "sins" into a Catch-22 of sorts- they don't want us to smoke because of the health problems it causes, but if everyone quit smoking the tax revenue would be lost. Therefore the government actually ends us having a vested interest in people continuing the "sins." I think it makes more sense to have higher health care premiums for people who smoke, drink, eat poorly, etc. Or maybe to reward people who make healthy choices with lower premiums. Just my two cents.

Unfortunately, we are a greedy, impatient, self-centered nation.

We want the best of everything.

We want it ALL, NOW.

We want it all now and for a bargain.

NO. when you start down that road, you start curtailing people's choices, because almost everybody does have some limit somewhere to how much money they can afford to spend.
