I have 6 and 4 year old girls. I wanted them to make christmas gifts for their grandparents this year. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

  • Hand print molds as stepping stones for a garden/yard. Smush refrigerator letter magnets in them and spell out kids names.
Ornament terraniums(sp?) A clear glass ornament with a small plant inside to hang in window.
Homemade heat pad (Martha Stewart.com).... You sew a rectangle and fill it with buckwheat or rice, make a personalized cover for it.

  • I like gifts in a jar: cookies, soup, spice mixes, etc. They can decorate the jars with ribbons, sequins, etc.

  • Ornaments!!! All of my mom's favorite ornaments are ones we (or the grandkids) made. I'm guessing their g'parents don't get many of the kid made ornaments anymore. Heck, every year my daughter's "christmas angle" (written across the chest) that she made for me out of a paper plate graces the top of our tree. I wouldn't replace it for all the money in the world. :)

  • this year we are making homemade calenders. the kids are doing several paintings for the picture parts, and then they are going through and writing the special days. My five year old has decided that we are also writing a bible verse on each pic.. so those should be really cute and special.

  • Baked goods. Kids love helping in the kitchen and getting all dirty with the ingridients. You can make simple sugar cookies, use cookie cutters to cut them into shapes, and then use icing and sprinkles to decorate them. You can also take one batch and have them use food coloring to decorate the dough before you bake it.

Daughterofruth has a great idea too.
