Coffee and breastmilk production

I have a specific question regarding coffee and breastmilk production.
Does anyone know if the amount of breastmilk you produce/ have available for the baby is effected by drinking coffee?

  • Research says no, it has no effect.

The bigger concern is baby's reaction to the caffeine.

  • Caffeine, any caffeine, is a diaretic and will reduce the amount of fluid in your body so yes, it will reduce your production of breastmilk.
