My daughter is 61/2 months. She usually poops once a day.
The last 2 days she has pooped 3 times and it is hard and not messy at all. it like sticks to her bottom.
What could this be? and is she ok?
She also pushes really hard like she is having trouble getting it out.

  • What's changed in her diet? That's usually the frist thing to look for.

    Increase her liquids.

  • What is her diet? BF or FF? Any solids? If so, when were they introduced, and what? Is the poop dry, or like a pellet? It's formed, but (ew i know) if you tried to squish it, could you?

  • Give her a small bottle of purified water (4 oz.) Put 1/8 tsp. of dark Karo syrup in bottle and shake it well. Doctor recommended cure for constipation. Used it with both my children and it workd everytime.

  • Karo's website specifies that it is not intended for infants. There is a risk of botulism poisoning, the same risk that honey carries. Since baby is on solids, try prunes.
