thoughts on this situation

if you start something for self serving reasons.... nothing selfish... but you choose to do something to prove to yourself you could do it, to keep active and prevent boardum, to be able to say you did it - and it turned out that you made a very significant change in a life (maybe even more than one).

1) it is nice but isnt the real meaning of doing God's will
2) God may have used you and you didnt even know
3) it was all in the plan
4) other

  • Other...I think it just proves that if you are doing something to help yourself and you end up enjoying it, whether you really realize it or not you can have a significant impact on someone else.

For example, you are a stay at home mom of a kid in half day kindergarten. So to fill up your 3.5 hours you start serving a meal at a soup kitchen. If you really start to notice the people who are truly greatful, I think it makes you subconsciously at least, enjoy what you are doing. In enjoying what you are doing you end up just being so happy to come everyday and help the people.

  • 1) Depends on what you believe is God's will.
    2) Possible, but unlikely
    3) I believe in the free will God has given us, not a "plan"

  • 1) it is nice but isnt the real meaning of doing God's will   I don't know anyone that is clear on what this imaginary deity really wants.

    2) God may have used you and you didnt even know  Unlikely if not impossible

    3) it was all in the plan  There's no way I can look at the chaos in this world and believe that ANYONE has a plan for it.  If this is the best plan that god can come up with--well the workmanship is stunningly amateurish.
