I am always asked "Why should we hire you."
My mom always said say because "I want a chance to grow with the company."

  • I have said things like I have the knowledge and experience that you need for someone in this position. Or I have most of the experience and knowledge that you need, and I'm very excited to be able to learn new skills.

  • Tie the job responsibilities to what you have accomplished in the past. They don't care about what you want, they care about what you can contribute to them.

    Be sure to mail a hand-written thank you note as soon as you get home.
