when do you put your baby in a high chair?

How old can your child be to be able to be sat in a high chair?
My son is 3.5 months

When they can sit up comfortably on their own. Considering they shouldn't even have solids until they CAN sit up by themselves, that's a decent guideline anyway.

I put mine in the high chair when I started feeding them baby cereal which is between 4 and 5 months for me. They generally don't have stage two foods until they can sit up on their own completely.

I agree with as soon as he can sit up on his own (and remain sitting on his own without falling over). He's too young now.

We have a highchair that tilts back, so I put him in it from the time he was 4 months old just tilted it back so he wouldn't slump forward.

We just started putting Wesley in a chair. He was 5 months. But we aren't feeding him soldis yet - he just sits at the table with us and plays with a toy. I think the suggestion is when they can sit with support and have good head control- but don't quote me on that.
