Is cramping normal in early pregnancy?

Im 5 weeks along with my first and i've had mild cramping for a week now, it usually happens at night and it only lasts for a little bit, is it normal or what? im just scared that i might miscarry
so is it my uterus expanding or something more serious??

  • normal! your body is going through a major physical change and with it comes minor cramps! only time to be concerned is if the cramps are followed by spotting. if you are concerned, talk to the dr.!

  • when i was very early on with my 2nd i had lots of cramping, it felt like i was going to get my period any second. i used to go to the bathroom a lot to check for bleeding LOL. but it is totally normal.

  • Normal. It's actually very very common. However, if you bleed or if you have cramping so bad you would feel the need to take something, don't take any meds - call your ob just to be safe.
