Should a cab driver be expected to help you with your groceries?

My husband thinks it is part of their job but I think if they do they are just being nice.

  • It's not part of their job but a nice tip could fix that.

  • I wouldn't think it part of their job. Their job is too drive you to your destination.

  • I don't think its part of their job. But it sure would be nice if they did!! When I was in college I went grocery shopping and my car died on me on the way home. A police officer pulled in behind me to see waht was wrong (I was literally in the middle of the road). I explained to him the situation and asked if he could take me home. He did. But he didn't even pull up to my house and parked out on the street. So I had to try to lug all of the groceries up to my house. Never even offered to help. Ended up dropped the taoster I bought and breaking it ;( I was grateful for the ride considering it was midnight, but kind of annoyed at the lack of assistance!

  • That's women liberation for you.  Either you want to be treated as an equal or not.

Cab driver will do if you ask but that means extra trip.
