  • The only real answer can only come from a doctor. The issue can be more serious than menopause. Please go to (or call) your county health department (now!)

Coming from another 40 year old, if so, it's not the end of life. Life is not allowing me to have anymore children either, so I decided to start a business in media. Besides, my sixteen year old is stunningly beautiful and a sharp brain to match. Maybe having a business as an example for her is what was meant to be.

  • I can't tell you what is going on with you but I can tell you I'm 47 and have been 'peri-menopausal for 5 years. Basically that means..I still have a period..but they are very irregular, I have hot flashjes, night sweats ans mood swings that make me ashamed of myself at times. My Dr does not want to put me on hormone replacement due to family history. He did say he would consider it after I was 50 and periods ceased altogether.
Best thing you can do is see your GYN and talk about it to make sure that is what it is and not something else.

  • Yes, you can be Menopausal at 43 or at least Peri-Menopause...I did at 32. And it can last up to ten years too. I am over 36 now and still gong through this. But you will only know for sure if you get tested by your doctor. I had hot flashes, insomnia and moodiness for ten years before I actually hit menopause.

  • i think you can wait... and yes its possibly for early menopause.. if you start bleeding heavier than a period, like a clot, then if you have to, go see a general practictioner, that way, you get into a doctor, and they can recommend you to a gyn. and your insurance will see it as an urgent thing.

  • I’ve been going through menopause for 10 years now (started at 38). My tips and experiences. Pay attention to things that trigger hot flashes, and avoid them when you can (i.e. spicy food, hot drinks, overly warm rooms). Wear breathable layers of clothing (i.e. one minute you‘re hot, the next your cold). Drink lots of water, get plenty of exercise. Take your b-vitamins, and soy supplements. Air circulation is key, especially at night. Have a fan circulating air in whatever room you are working. Engage in calming activities to relieve your stress. Emotional state can trigger hot flashes too (positive and negative). Avoid alcohol or keep it to a minimum. Get 8 hours of sleep. (up and down all night...changing nightwear because it’s drenched, drinking water, and using the bathroom). Night time rituals to keep you cool: -shower before bed. -sleep with crisp cool sheets.
