If criminals get free public defenders why cant honest americans get health care?

Just a question i have been thinking about! Why should a person that has done something wrong get rewarded with a lawyer and free healtcare?

We don't have a constitutional right to healthcare, but WE SHOULD. No one should be forced to be chronically ill or even die because they could not afford a doctor and/or medication. It's sickening that everything comes down to the almight dollar. "Well how much is this going to cost ME?" Such selfishness...unfortunately, that is the American way.

Public defenders are not free. You pay for them. Same for healthcare. It's never free. In the countries that do have "free" healthcare they pay 50% of their weekly paycheck in taxes.

I say free in they have no liability at all, I know that taxes pay for PD's and Medical cards but why should someone that has to be taken out of the general public have these servies for free? and i would gladly pay 50% tax if i didnt have to pay for child care, health care and all the other pub;ic services that they get.

Perhaps because you have a constitutional right to counsel. You don't have a constitutional right to healthcare.
