what do you put in your kids stockings?

we put toothbrushes, fav.toothpaste, flooss sticks, socks, underwear, crayons, hair things, winter hats, gloves,..anything I have to buy anyways.. NO CANDY!!! how about you...?

My 5 year old daughter gets things like a DVD, coloring book, crayons, hair accessories, mittens, hat, a barbie or a stuffed animal, a movie theater gift card, a mcdonalds gift card, one or two pieces of candy that (GASP!!!) we let them eat a piece before breakfast on Christmas morning!

My boys (10 and 12) get things like books, movie theater gift cards, McDonalds gift cards, a couple pieces of candy, tabletop football, YuGiOh cards or whatever they are into at the moment, Tech Decks, stuff like that. Not more than like $20 per stocking. And we wrap everything in it except for one or two small things that we leave sticking out the top :) They open their stockings while cinnamon rolls are cooking, it takes them like 20 minutes just to go through their stockings.

We got an orange, some nuts, some lifesaver books(do they still do those? lol) and some other assorted candy. Usually there was a small gift in there as well. Toothbrush or a CD/Cassette we wanted,etc.

That was when I was growing up. My DH and I dont do stockings anymore.

If you were asking me...yes I have 3 young children. I just have never been a huge fan of stockings and decided that they werent necessary to a fun holiday.

We put a lot of diffrent things in stockings. Apple, Orange, Banana, candy cane, a few pieces of candy, and a small toy or two. Sometimes we will stick a new toothbrush in them too.

We always put an apple and an orange in the bottom and throw in a handful of mixed nuts (in the shell). It's a tradition from my mom's childhood that we've kept going. We always dump the nuts from all the stockings into a bowl and someone cracks them and passes them out while we're opening presents. There's no big surprise to it, but it just wouldn't seem right to have stockings without this little ritual since it's ALWAYS been that way. In the middle of the stocking, there are usually some wrapped candies (usually chocolated coins) and a few small toys, barrettes, combs, and things like that. And there's usually a candy cane and a small stuffed animal or special toy peeking out the top.

We do a single serve cereal, a candy, a toy or two from the dollor store and a few cheap braclets. No more than $10 a stocking.

I don't do much candy not a fan of junk food, so we put panties, socks, earrings, necklaces, rings, hair clips, and a fur real friend

a new christmas ornanment and a dairy free chocolate bar(they have a dairy allergy so this is a rare treat because they r spendy)
