Question about bankruptcy and child support

If one parent in a child support case files for bankruptcy does the other get notified if they are not owed money? Basically, if the NCP parent files and does not owe back CS does the CP get informed of the bankruptcy?

  • I don't see why they need to be notified, especially if they are not behind on child support. But I don't really know the law on that.
