Pagan Yule music??

I would LOVE some Yule CD's or even a few songs to listen to while decorating my house. I was listening to traditional Christmas music but it gets really old hearing about how Jesus was born on that holy night when i know full well He wasn't and He isn't even the reason why i'm decorating for the season anyways.

I have one song called "Santa Clause is Pagan too". I love it. But i would love some more. Anyone know of any?

  • One of my favorites is This Winter's Night by Mothertongue. I also like Loreena McKennitt's Christmas CDs. My son likes Trans Siberian Orchestra. We also have a lot of instumental versions of traditional Christmas music. Windham Hill makes some of our favorites. Here's a site with TONS of Pagan lyrics if you want to sing along:

We also like unsual versions of carols like Abney Park's "dark" Christmas album:

Our UU church uses this music every year:

I know I'm forgetting some, but I haven't gotten out my holiday music yet!

  • I downloaded several songs I like (years ago when file sharing was no big deal). Unfortunately I am not home right now. Here are a few links. You can listen to the tracks of these CDs on Amazon here is "Winter Solstice Carols" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=B00005NQIR/themeditacatA/
and Beautiful Darkness: Celebrating the Winter Solstice http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=B000056K90/themeditacatA/
Firedance: Songs for Winter Solstice http://www.amazon.com/Firedance-Songs-Winter-Solstice-Jaiya/dp/B000CAFP76/ref=pd_krex_shvl_1
I think you can download the songs you like individually there too.
