I'm a huge dork. Spelling question.

Is Terry or Terrie the female spelling?

Thank you in advance!

  • You could always write really sloppy, so she can't really tell for sure how you spelled it. lol

  • Both. I've known females who are Terri, Terry, and Teri. I don't think there's any one particular gender assigned to any spelling, although I don't think I've ever met a man who wasn't "Terry" (with a y).

  • For every man I've ever known with that name, it was Terry. For the women, it's been any of the spellings. My aunt is Teri, I used to work with a Terri and a Terry, and I've also known a Tery. I've known way too many of them, I think. lol

  • Oh no! lol! I'm trying to mail pictures to my ex-MIL and can't remember which spelling was right. She's corrected me over and over again telling me that her's was the female spelling. I guess I'll just send it to T. and her last name.
    Thanks again :)

  • If she said the female version, it's most likely Terri or Teri. You could always go to whitepages.com and look up her last name. If the phone is listed in her name, it should show up and you could verify the spelling.
Or you could just address it to T, as you said :)

  • I've only known 2 females with that name. They both spell it Terri.
