Ohio Driver's License Expiration Question

The Ohio BMV website says "Individual driver licenses are valid for four years and expire on your birthday."

So why is does my driver license, issued on 10/04/2006 expire this month on my birthday?

  • If it is a replacement for an original, they do that.

  • OP here. I found the answer by calling the Drivers License Office today.

    Thanks for the link Jennalise but it didn't go anywhere and I had already been all over their website yesterday.

    My DL expires before 4 years because if it were good until my birthday next year, my license would have been in effect OVER 4 years. 4 years is the limit for a DL.
