My son is on Omnicef....it says take for 14 days but bottle says discard after 10 days...what do I do.

The pharmacy said that I could give it the 14 days.....so why does it say to discard after 10 in big red letters?

  • It is usually given in a 10 day dosage and they don't want you keeping it past the time you are supposed to give it. It won't go bad that quickly though. Give it for the full 14 days.

  • Give it for the 14 days, it should be fine. If you are really worried call the doctor.

  • The pharmacists know medicine better then the doctors. I'd say that if they said 14 is ok, then 14 is ok.
