Using a G tube "feeding tube" for meds and not feeding

Has anyone heard of using a g tube "feeding tube" just for medican and not feeding? My son dr is want to try it with my son and i've look online about and can't find anything...

  • Yes, I know of a little girl who has one. She has an extreemly strong gag reflex. Unfortunately she also has health problems that require medicine that only comes in pill form. So she has a g-tube. I know of another little girl that has severe handicaps. She eats but has to have her food in small bites or will choke. She also has a g-tube for her meds, some of the pills are big and sometimes you aren't sure they go down, even liquid medicines.
