Why do every day, ordinary people talk about celebrities like they know them?

Also, why do some people care about their personal lives so much? I've seen several questions tonight about celebrities and was just wondering why we care what they do?

  • I don't get it either. People need to get a life already.

  • I wonder the same thing, I don't think people realize the "celebrity" is a manufactured person. They are told how to dress, talk and answer questions. What we as a public see is not who these people are.

  • well seeing how I am one of those people who asked a question about a celeb....I am going to answer.

    1. I dont talk about them like I know them.

    2. when something about a celeb is all you see all day, even on the local is something you talk about....the same as if I heard about someone in a bad car wreck, I would probably talk about that too, I dont think anyone would ask a question why I am talking about it, since I didnt know the person...

    3. I, even though I did ask a question about a celeb, dont "obsess" or really ever think about them, unless I heard something interesting.....

    4. I dont understand why people make such a big deal about someone elses question(s) ( and opinions) when they can simply ignore it and move to the next question.......
