My 1 1/2 year old and I am not engaging him enough. Any ideas?

He is used to being in daycare all day long, So I don't think I am giving him enough to stimulate his brain.

  • Sing songs. Dance. get the paint out and let him finger paint. let him play with clay. make music instruments out of things around the house. over emphasize everything. imitate him. help him find different things around the house and outside that have different textures and let him touch them.

  • The world is a wonderful classroom, full of sounds, sights, textures, smells, etc. For example, go on color walks: see how many colors you can find. Or animal walks, etc. Ride a bus or train. Go to a museum or office building. Most libraries have free activities for tots.
