Anxiety & Breastfeeding.. whats safe?

my OB prescribed visteril.. She said its the only thing safe to take while nursing.. i need something for my anxiety.. but i dunno wats best for my baby. do you take anything??

  • Lexapro 10mg (it's for depression as well) and the best thing for you to do is to learn about Cognetive Behavioral Therapy. CBT is where you learn to recognize the triggers and it also gives you the ability to talk yourself down from the anxiety. Good Luck and definitely work on the CBT it is drug free.

  • I took stuff for depression that was safe. Breast feeding is the best thing for your baby and your doctor wouldn't prescribe it if it wasn't safe. Good luck!

  • If your ob knows you are breastfeeding and said it was safe, then it's safe.
