In your country, are people still concerned about the war in Afghanistan or are they apathetic at this point?

  • "...Winning? Is it a contest? .. In my state most of us want to get the military home safely and we don't want billions of dollars spent on a war that can't be won, just like Vietnam. If the government wants to spend billions of dollars, they should pay down the deficit. Or contribute to a new health care plan, not use the money to kill."

    I agree.

There is no "winning" this and we should spend the billions not for killing but for constructive purposes here at home.

Then doing a deal with the taliban isnt a possibility in your mind ? Are you aware it might be a possibility in US strategy ? Just recently there are rumours of talks, and that acknowledging that in the long run this is only going to be solved by a political solution , rather than military a one.

  • How much money and how many lives will it take to rid the world of terrorists? It seems we're just hopscotching across the Middle East attempting to put out fires, hit and miss, here and there. The mission is undefined and apparently never ending. It is ridiculous for the American ppl (aka China) to be funding these efforts. We can not win this battle (whatever the battle is). How many lives and at what cost? WE DO NOT HAVE THE $$$$- the conservative mantra except in the case of war!

  • Terrorism is a tactic used by people all across the world. The world will never be free from terrorist. Education, food, water, and shelter is what the people of Afghanistan need. We can settle disputes without murdering people.
