Anti depressants that wont affect sex drive????

I wouldnt say I'm depressed just need more patience and an attitude adjustment. Lol I've tried Prozac which was great but I could not have an orgasm! Doc told me this would happen but I figured I'd try it anyway. It helped with my mood swings and gave me more patience. But I can't put my sex life in jeopardy bc we all know that will cause a whole diff problem! I was only on 10mg of Prozac.
Just need something to take the edge off. Thx

  • All Rx SSRI drugs have a risk of sexual dysfunction. Super depressing.

Have you considered some herbal calmatives? Catnip and lemon balm are a nice tea that have no know contraindications. I think Lemon balm actually improves my sex life.

  • Cymbalta has been linked to increased risk of suicide in younger women. It should not be taken in conjunction with other Rx meds. My family lost someone to this drug.

  • I take Cymbalta, it works great and has not affected my sex drive. We average 5 times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

  • Well, although I was on Depression medication for years, I thank God I chose to get off and take charge of my health. Have you researched Nutritional Supplements? I got on a regimen while I was still taking Effexor because I too was having my sex life affected. It was ruining my married. I was on the medication for 7 years. Today I take only Nutritional Supplements, exercise, eat right and just simply put me first. My life has changed in ways I never thought possible. You might want to do more research and not just settle. If one really feels they need the medication because they are seriously clinical depressed than take it. I am all for it. But their are other alternatives for those who don't like how they feel while taking it and the side effects that come along with it.
