i have dimes that are dated 1940's...i looked up on the website what they valued at but where is a place where i can actually get a value from an actual person?

  • You can look up "Coin Brokers or Dealers" in your local Yellow Pages. Many antiques dealers, fine jewelers or fine collectibles businesses have coin appraisers that work with them.

    Even though your coins may be old, it is the QUALITY, YEAR and the minting location that determine their true values! The more "pristine" a coin is (sharp design, no/few scratches/wear marks, etc.), the higher the value. You'd be surprised that a coin that has survived 60-100+ years may not be as valuable as you think because of it's condition!

  • some private antique jewlers buy them, that is what me and hubby did, got 600$

  • Most coins of value are from pre-1940, pre WWII when they were made with actual precious metals. There should be some coin shops in your area, just google them.
