question about yogurt

ok so i've been eating yoplait light for years and feeding it to my kids as well. i assumed "light" meant "healthy". so today i decided to look at the label and saw that it has high fructose corn syrup and aspartame sweetener in it and flipped. i'm pregnant and i know how bad aspartame is and just cannot believe i never looked before. funny thing is the regular yoplait obviously has more fat but not the aspartame. anyway what kind of light yogurt can i buy that doesnt have all that crap in it?

  • Real yogurt does not have gelatin or high fructose corn syrup. It has live cultures.

  • Anything with articfical sweetners (aka Light) are nasty. Artificial sweetners are worse than regular sugar. The sweetners cause brain cancer in lab rats, effect the symptoms of diseases such as Multiple Scelorsis. I don't buy anything with artificial sweetners.

  • best bet would be to buy plain nonfat yogurt and mix in your own fruit. I like to drain it salted overnight and use the thick topping like cream cheese and the whey to marinate and tenderize meat or use in baking. It is high in protein.
