How can I get Vick's Salve out of my 2 yr old's hair

My daughter got into the Vicks and put it all over her hair. I have washed her hair 3x and cannot get it out.. Have any solutions? We are going for family pictures today.

  • Dish soap. I've had to get vasoline, vicks and A&D ointment out of kids hair. Usually it was older ones doing it to younger ones. Trying to make their hair spiky.
    Dawn is the best. It isn't harsh and cuts right through it.

  • absolutely sandypops!
    use liquid dish soap, and then use your normal conditioner... also, make sure that you have some visine in case any gets in her eyes- so she won't have red eyes for pictures. my ds did that with monkey grease (if you know what that is- OMG!)... hope your pix turn out great!

  • 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water. Pour it through her hair and rub it in, then wash and rinse as usual.
