My baby has a strong urine smell/strong odor.

My one year old is exclusively breastfed, she wont take a bottle or a sippy cup. She only eats a little bit of solids each day, mostly a bit of snacking. However, this past week she has had a strong odor when changing wet diapers. The diaper wont even be very wet, but when i take it off, her entire bottom smells strong. I try to give her a bath everyday, every other day at the very most. Do you guys have any suggestions on what this might be? No fever or abnormal crying? I have no idea what it might be from!

  • It sounds like dehydration. Give her some water too.

  • Does she still have the same number of wet diapers? Is she trying any new food?

  • she has the same number of wet diapers. she has just tried hellavagood dip with some plain chips .she seems to like that. not alot, maybe three or four chips with dip the past few days. Could that be whats making her smell funny?

  • At one she should be eating a bit more solid foods then just some snacking. But toddler pee, and she is getting to toddlerhood, is stronger and more ammonia-ish than that of a younger baby.
