Is it possible to be too pregnant for an HPT to work?

As in to have too much HCG in your blood? Or am I being stupid?

  • No, infact it will work better then if you tested before your missed period. The more HCG you have running through your body the easier for the HPT to decect. You cannot be 'too pregnant' for a HPT to work.

  • No, Hcg peaks in the end of first and early second tri, but you have more than enough hcg in your system to get a BFP throughout pregnancy. And for the first week or so after delivery as well, until it all leaves your system.

  • A HPT tests your urine not your blood so I am kinda unsure about what you mean about a HPT and having too much HCG in your blood

Having said that... no its not possible to have too much HCG for a blood test or a HPT to detect pregnancy. The more you have, the more likely the tests are to detect it
