need a little more info.
does it come on and cause our house to become too hot? does it come on and produce no heat, or not enough heat?
i think it could be maybe 4 problems.
one, your thermostat is not reading your indoor temperature correctly, or your thermostat is in a place of the house that is colder then the rest of the house and reading the coolest temperature causing it to kick on more than it needs to.
two, your thermostat relay is stuck or bent and is on a constant on mode regardless of the temperature it is reading.
three, you have an electrical problem that is causing your unit to run independently of what the thermostat is telling it.
...check your inside temperatures, if they match what the thermostat is reading at all times and the unit is warming the house temporarily, you likely have an insulation problem. you are loosing the heat too rapidly.
