  • If your hubby has a low sperm count to begin with, then yes it possibly can reduce your chances.

Now, I don't think doing it for the 3 days leading up to and on actual O day hurts anything. My fertility doc actually said to do it the two days before O and the day of. There's no reason to do it so much. Watch your fertile cues (cervical mucus and cervical position) and then go for it!

  • Nope. Urban legend. The more often sperm enter the vagina, the more chances you have of getting pregnant. Men who ejaculate frequently have healthier sperm too. Ejaculating 2 or 3 times each day does not lower sperm count. It is made pretty much on demand. Just keep your man hydrated.

  • I went to a fertility specialist and they told us to do it every other day starting from a couple days before O and going a couple days after.

  • The anon PP is right. You need to have sex every other day to allow your husband's sperm a chance to build back up. Having sex daily or multiple times a day decreases his sperm count.

  • Here's another vote for anon being right. It's best to bd every other day. Too much sex can decrease sperm counts.

  • There are conflicting studies on it. Just as some have heard every other day is optimal, I've also read recent articles about a study that has shown frequent sex, like every day, is even better. Just go for it and try not to over-think the whole thing. You'll only drive yourself and your partner nuts!
