  • Get 4 or 5 different kinds of cheese and a variety of crackers, chips/veggies with a few different kinds of dips, shrimp platters are always good, small cut sandwiches and wraps, any finger foods are pretty much the best things to have for snacks at a party. If you are doing dinner, do it later in the evening, since people will be filling up on snacks and won't be hungry for a while. You really don't need to do organized games for something like this, just put out a few games somewhere for the kids. Jenga, Elefun, Uno and Candy Land are all pretty simple games and they won't need much adult intervention. The kids can organize themselves into whatever game they want to play. Maybe a few holiday coloring books and a couple boxes of crayons. For the kids who don't like games.

  • Do a cracker, meat, and cheese spread. Have different kinds of crackers, summer sausage, a cheese ball, and sliced cheese of different kinds. Put out a bowl of mixed nuts as well. That can be their snack until dinner is ready. For dinner Maybe you could do a Tender Loin, baked Macaroni and Cheese, Green beans cooked with Bacon, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and a hardy green salad.
