if so many agree on God...

If SO many people of different faiths ultimately believe in the SAME GOD, then why is there all this bickering about who's way is the right way to get to heaven? I mean it doesn't make sense to me other than people want to argue...which wouldn't make him very happy right?
*unless he has a twisted sense of humor

I'm honestly wondering what's the point of it all

  • They all believe in god......BUT, they all believe that their religion is the correct way to god. To believe that all other religions are false but ones own, creates a sense of eliteness in that spiritual group which actually raises their level of faith. If they all believed that all religions can get you to god just as good as their religion can, then it would mean that certain scriptures & things they believe in is false. Not many religious people want to believe that what they were taught is correct, is really false. So, they stick to their guns & believe that they are the special elite group that gets to be with god in the end, & everyone else is screwed. It makes them feel more special if they believe that they have the TRUE way to god. Again, if they believe other paths are true, then they are going against their own beliefs & not many peopel will do that.

  • the point of revelation is for mankind to be guided by it. however people do not take to it. they discard some, believe others. for instance the Pagans don't want to accept that God sent them instructions, The jews don't want to accept Jesus, The chrisitians don't want to accept Mohammad. etc. the list is can be long and wide. with each group not wanting to relinquish or accept that God send new revelation.

  • The point is to give us a choice. God gave us options and wants us to make the right choice, but it's on you to find it.

  • Great question! Sure, how confusing it must be! Which God? Which church? Which bible? When all religion ptretty much is trying to lead in the same direction yet there are many paths to chose from. The best tools you can have as a christian is faith, prayer, and your bible. Luke 6: 43, 44

If that's true- how do you pick? I mean do you go with what your parents taught you? do you try 15 different churches?
do you ignore organised religion and just make a go of it on your own?

  • Have you ever heard the saying "There is 100 different ways to get to Toledo"? You can take the interstate, or you can take back-roads. You can fly, you can walk, you can ride a bicycle or motorcycle. You can come the north, south, east, or west. And so on...

This is like our individual paths to the Divine. You gotta find the one that's best for YOU!

  • I'm searching often myself for settling in to a church. "You gotta findthe one that's best for YOU!" ?

then you gotta give that church or temple more time or go to a different parish same religion or different religion. I've found a huge huge difference in the way individual parishes in my religion believe in the bible and God and practice the meaning of the bible.

God gave us brains to question and accept different things in our lives. When one of those isn't working for you then do the opposite.
