When something is as popular as Elmo or Zhu Zhu Pets, everyone is sold out. Or you have people selling them for outrageous prices. I wait until after Christmas and get them. It works out great also because the kids birthdays are within months after Christmas and they can get them then. Even if their birthdays weren't so close to Christmas, I still would wait. But then tell them that its a "just because you were on your best behavior" gift. Does anyone else wait or do you go ahead and pay the higher prices?

I do that too Anon. I stock up on the labels, paper, anything I can use for the next holiday. Sometimes we get the Hallmark ornaments that way too. Mark downs and clearance have become my new best friend. I do the same for clothing sometimes.
