  • The entire provision for salvation is an expression of God’s undeserved kindness (Eph. 2:8,9). Imperfect man can never earn it in his own right. It is a gift we are all invited to accept. But to accept we MUST observe his commandments  (1 John 5:3) which, yes would mean repenting and then abstaining from wrong-doing and enduring to the end (Matthew 10:22).

  • I will add a bump for you since I am not sure about how salvation works either.

  • Grace is God showing us mercy. Grace is God giving us an undeserved blessing. To me the meaning of "to be saved by grace" Is God saving us by showing us mercy.

  • The Bible says that we are to call on the name of Jesus Christ in order to be saved. There is not a list of rules which one must keep in order to be saved. It's more of a heart change, which is really what repentance is all about. Salvation in Jesus Christ is basically the recognition of who Jesus is and accepting that His death paid the penalty for all our sins--past, present and future. We then learn to live our lives with His being the Lord and not we ourselves being our own God. Salvation is really just the starting point for a way of life that is known as Christianity. This is how it differs from all other religions. Those who have truly accepted Jesus Christ no longer want to do the sinful acts in which they participated before they repented.
