hold her hands, look her in the eye (important to have eye contact) and calmly tell her to stop hitting, & that hitting hurts or gives owies. if she hits again, do the same thing. If she does it a third time tell her it's time to sit in a time-out because she was hitting. try not to yell because when you yell it will just add fuel to the fire because she is getting a reaction to her behavior. After her time out of about a minute or two tell her hitting is not nice, ask her to say she is sorry, give her a hug and go back to play. And just keep repeating that until she learns how to quit.
